Yesterday it looked as though Arsenal’s title aspirations had all but disappeared, but Arsene Wenger said that he was confident that the race was not over and told the BBC that he did not expect Man Utd to win today.

United duly obliged in a lively match at Middlesbrough, where the weather conditions were appalling. The game was frantic and Ronaldo scored United’s first on ten minutes. Alves pulled ‘Brough level after 35 minutes.

It was Alves again in the second half scoring to put Brough into the lead. United’s pressure finally telling with 15 minutes to go when Rooney grabbed the equaliser.

And so it is game on. Arsenal are back in the hunt and Chelsea were the only one of the top three to collect maximum points. United play Arsenal next week at Old Trafford, while Chelsea are at home to Wigan.
