Last night I watched a young Arsenal side play the most beautiful passing football I think I have ever seen; and in the process, outgunning a very good AC Milan side to win 2-0.
Arsenal became the first English team to beat AC Milan in the Champions League at the San Siro stadium in Milan. The passing was fast and concise, while tackling and breaking down AC Milan’s play was incisive and controlled. Matthieu Flamini and Cesc Fabregas controlled the midfield; and after the first fifteen minutes, controlled the game.
Maldini and Kaka down the left side caused few problems, though had a good game. That was what made Arsenal’s performance so special, they wasn’t playing a poor team, they simply stopped a good team playing well.
This was such a different performance than the Premier League encounter last Saturday when Aston Villa deserved to beat an out of sorts Arsenal side full of misplaced passes and poor first touch control.
On last night’s performance Arsenal could be the Champions of Europe. However, consistency is the keyword; and like Chelsea in recent seasons, there is more chance of them getting knocked out by an English team than a European heavyweight.

The Arse were on fire last night. I can see four English teams being in the semis
