Arsenal stay at the top of the premiership after their win at Upton Park this afternoon. A hard fought but scrappy game did manage to produce some good goalmouth action, but sadly just the one goal. Scored in the first half by Van Persie.

The Hammers picked up their game in the second half and took the game to Arsenal. Ljungberg did have the ball in the net after what looked to be a perfectly timed run, harshly ruled offside by the linesman. Arsenal were always a threat on the break, often finding little or no resistance in the West Ham defence. Van Persie had the best of the chances for Arsenal with a spectacular effort edged onto the post by wide awake Green.

Arsenal good value in the end for the points, but sometimes lacking the grace of their more recent football.

Good news for England though, with the current crop of injuries, Dean Ashton looked razor sharp for West Ham, although not getting on the score-sheet, he did possess a huge and constant threat.
