Barcelona, Ronaldhino And Eto’o Can Leave

John Williams - Monday 19.05.08, 16:55pm

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted that Ronaldhino will be allowed to leave Barcelona this summer, as most of us knew all along. Samuel Eto’o could well be on his way also, as Laporta claims the club is about to enter a ‘new cycle.’

Ronaldhino was being strongly tipped to join one of the Milan clubs, moves that have not materialised so far, and now looking less likely, following allegations in a Spanish newspaper that the Brazillian star had a secret medical that revealed problems with his health and fitness. AC Milan back pedalled on the move shortly after the report.

Manchester City may emerge as current favourites to sign the fallen idol. Nothing against City, and i would love to see the player in the Premier League, but it was always expected that he would end up at one of the top European teamsĀ  and City fall short of that mark currently.

And it seems that Spurs are emerging as favourites to pick up Eto’o, with Spanish boss Ramos sure that he can sign the striker.

To be fair both players have shown an amazing lack of form this season and Eto’o is too injury prone for many teams to stake an interest. Laporta is right to want to offload both players and enter the ‘new cycle’ with new coach and some fresh faces. It is generally considered that a clear out would benefit the club so long as the players are suitably replaced.

If all the rumours are true, it sounds like AC & Inter Milan are going to have hefty wage bills to pay next season!
