Barcelona have told Frank Rijkaard that he will no longer be coach after the end of this season, fueling speculation that he might turn up at Chelsea.
Rijkaard has been under fire all season but received a vote of confidence from his board of directors in January, when it seemed he was certain to leave. Barcelona have been trophy-less for two seasons and the drubbing by La Liga Champions Real Madrid this week appears to have been too much to suffer.
Josep Guardiola will take charge of the club from June 30th. It had long been rumoured that Jose Mourinho would be offered the job and it seems the majority of the board wanted him, but LaPorta the president decided he wanted his own man.
