England Squad training ahead of France friendly

The body language and confidence David Beckham showed in a press conference over the weekend strongly suggests David Beckham will win his 100th England cap tomorrow night in an international friendly against France in Paris. But with Fabio Capello giving the captain’s armband to John Terry, do you think David Beckham will start for England?

I would assume Fabio Capello will start the game with his strongest eleven; and therefore surprised if he starts with Beckham ahead of David Bentley. Bentley played well for Capello in the previous England game against Switzerland and has also continued his good form for Blackburn.

I think it would be sending out the wrong messages for Capello to pick Beckham ahead of either Bentley, though Beckham’s inclusion appears to have pushed Shaun Wright-Phillips out of the squad, who is surely the other contender for the right midfield position.

If all goes well, Capello can then bring Beckham on for a final 20 minutes or so, get praised by the fans while keeping Beckham as a useful squad member for the time being.

Only four other players - Billy Wright (105), Bobby Charlton (106), Bobby Moore (108) and Peter Shilton (125) - have reached three figures for England.

Of the current England players, who else can you see getting 100 England caps?
