England coach Fabio Capello has warned supporters not to expect miracles ahead of his first game in charge, against Switzerland tonight. It does make a change from the more often seen headline, We need a miracle to qualify, dont you think
So far I have been impressed with Capello, laying down a firm set of ground rules to the squad and generally letting them know that he will be running things his way. He has stated that he is not a Messiah, and that results will be gained only through hard work and commitment throughout the whole team. Sounds obvious really, but clearly things have been run on a more “matey” level in the recent past.
Capello’s dealing with David Beckham has also been exemplary, conveying his point with no ambiguity, and of course talking to the player before telling the press.
Lets get behind the England manager and the team and hope that we can see an improvement in the style and commitment of our national team.

Capello has been impressive so far, although I have publically disagreed with a couple of his decisions. He is a firm leader with a proven track record.
It is now or never for the likes of Gerrard, Owen, Terry when fit, and the others. If they can’t do it under Capello then they will know they are not good enough.
Here’s hoping for a win, some style and an exciting future.
