Spurs goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has been involved in an accident while riding his BMW motorcycle in London today, the 36 year old former Chelsea player was rushed to hospital after colliding with a Ford Fiesta while riding in Walthamstow.
It is believed the player has broken his pelvis after police on the scene described his injuries as ‘possibly life changing.’ He was taken to an East London hospital for treatment and further assessment.
The female driver and passenger of the car, described by witnesses as a write off, were able to walk away from the car and did not require hospital treatment.
A spokesman for Tottenham Hotspur confirmed that the player had been involved in an accident and that the club doctor was currently with the player at the hospital awaiting the results of scans and tests. Further news will be posted on the Spurs website.
Cudicini joined Spurs from London neighbours Chelsea on a free transfer in January, having spent the previous ten years with the Blues. He has featured in eight games for Spurs as cover for harry Redknapp’s regular goalkeeping choice Heurelho Gomes.
