tevez to join manchester rivals

For a while it seemed that it would never happen, but at last Manchester City and Carlos Tevez have agreed terms and the player joins City subject to a medical.

Tevez left rivals Manchester United despite eventually being offered a contract at Old Trafford after being overlooked for key games last season. Despite being a firm favourite with the Old Trafford fans, Tevez appeared to fall out of favour with Ferguson following the arrival of Berbatov. Even then you got the impression that Tevez would have stayed if believed that he would get more chances of a game.

Mark Hughes is understandably ecstatic about the signing, saying;

“He is an international of the highest class who possesses all the attributes to help drive us forward. This is yet another deal that shows the commitment of the owner to make this club the very best it can be.”

It is indeed a fantastic signing for City, who may have missed out on some top players but are steadily building an excellent squad. According to reports they are talking to Arsenal striker Adebayor and would like to be talking to Chelsea’s John Terry and the players are now listening.
