The future of Joan Laporta as chairman of Barcelona CF will be decided at an extraordinary board meeting tomorrow.
The board met last night to discuss the future of Laporta after he lost a vote of no confidence against him earlier. However the vote was not binding as it recorded a 60% vote against Laporta and the minimum required is 66%.
Laporta has said he has no intention of resigning despite being urged by the board to do so. Under the structure of the club if 14 of the 18 board members resign then Laporta will also have to go. It is not clear what tactics the board are likely to take although it is understood that at least eight of them will attempt to use the occasion to get him to resign.
It is clear that a large section of Barcelona fans support the board in removing Laporta from his position as chairman of the club.
