The BBC reports that Bolton have accepted an offer of 15 million from Chelsea for French striker Nicloas Anelka and that only formalities need to be sorted for the player to be available for Saturdays game against Spurs.
Anelka will sign a four and a half year deal with Chelsea, according to some reports to be worth 20 million!
No wonder he is so keen to get away.

thats a pretty good signing if you ask me. Spurs paid 16.5m for Darren Bent (More than Henry). So 15m for a player that is bang in form is good business.
Could get Chelski back in the title race. I hope not

I disagree. I don’t see this as a good signing unless Chelsea are planning to replace Didier Drogba long-term.
I think the two players are too similar in that they both head up the attack; and their egos will be too much for any dressing room.
Drogba has already mentioned his desire to leave Chelsea, and even though he detracted the comment, I think he meant it. And wherever Jose Mourinho lays his hat you can be sure he will attempt to sign Drogba again.

Too Similar? Drogba is such a different player to Anelka, the only similarity is that they are both strikers! It will be a real loss to Chelsea when Drogba goes and this signing is nowhere near a replacement.

By similar I mean, look at the roles they have played in the many teams they have played for. Both are the spearhead of an attack.
I can’t see Anelka playing off Drogba in the same way as Eidar Gudjohnson played so well off Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink when that partnership scored 50 goals in one season. Can you?
