Chelsea have agreed terms with Ajax coach Ten Cate, and he will join the club as Avram Grants assistant on Friday.
Henk ten Cate has enjoyed success with Ajax during last season, winning two domestic cups, but failing to win the league title by goal difference only. In his previous position with catalan giants Barcelona, as Frank Rijkaard’s right hand man, Ten Cate helped the team to win La Liga and the lift the Champions League trophy.
In contrast to his previous succeses Ten Cate’s Ajax team have had an indifferent start to this season, having already been knocked out of the Champions league and Uefa cup. qualifying rounds.
Other Chelsea rumours suggest that Avram Grant has expressed his desire to bring Brazilian star Kaka to Stamford Bridge. Allegedly suggesting that he is prepared to part with 100 million pounds of Ambramovich’s hard earned cash to secure a deal.
Football money it seems to me, is rather like monopoly money it has no value to these clubs.
