New Chelsea Home Shirt 2009

Chelsea and Adidas, the official sponsor and sportswear supplier for the club, reveal the new home shirt for the 2009/10 Premiership season.

With Chelsea just one match away from a second consecutive UEFA Champions League Final, the call to action behind the launch campaign, called “Every Team Needs A 12th Man”, has never been more apt.

The new Chelsea shirt will be worn for the first time on Sunday 17th May against Blackburn Rovers in the penultimate game of this Premier League season.

At first glance, the new ultra-modern shirt looks more like a cycling shirt, very cool.  The ’slim-fit’ is apprently an “ergonomically fitted shape.”

Layered chest panelling coupled with the 3D Formotion cut allows complete freedom of movement.  Waffled Climacool fabric and mesh panelling across major sweat zones will increase comfort and ensure players remain cool and dry.

The shirt also has a new streamlined crew neck collar design with “Chelsea FC” imprinted on rubber piping running down from the neckline of the shirt.

Chelsea will look fine and dandy in this brand new shirt.  But will John Terry being wearing one to pick up any trophies this season?
