Chelsea have had their transfer ban suspended pending a final decision from the Court of Arbitration for SportĀ  (CAS) following an appeal against the sentence handed out by FIFA over the clubs dealings in the Gael Kakuta affair with French club Lens.

CAS said that the sanctions would be stayed until a final decision is reached by the arbitrator, although no final date has been given. The decision means that it may be possible for Chelsea to sign new players in the January transfer window unless CAS issue their decision saying otherwise.

Under the original punishment handed out by FIFA, Chelsea were banned from transfer activity in the two transfer windows in 2010. The young player Kakuta was ordered to pay compensation to Lens of 780,000 euros for which Chelsea were jointly responsible, the club also paid 130,000 euros as ‘training compensation’ to the French club.

I know that was what we wanted,we can now swop on David Villa and also see if we can get another left full back as ashley cole seems to be out of favour with his colleagues.Petre Cech should also be replaced and i was thinking of Riccardo.Otherwise i will be hosting all chelsea and english fans here in cape town next year when they come for the big fiesta-throw me a mail -shaddy@alvillaromantica.com to boojk yourself accommodation for the whole tournament.
