Manchester City completed a rare double of wins at Old Trafford today, to liven up what is already considered to be the best Premiership battle ever.
Darious Vassell opened the scoring in a spirited game where United were frustrated by the City tactics all afternoon. A debut goal from Benjani put the visitors two ahead on the stroke of half time.
The expected onslaught from United in the second half was once again frustrated by the resolute defending and quick counter attacking of City. Michael Carrick did score a consolation goal for United, but already in injury time by then.
Arsenal could put some much needed space between themselves and United on Monday, if they can beat Blackburn at the Emirates. Chelsea can close the gap on United and all but see off Liverpool’s chances of the premiership title if they beat Liverpool at Stamford Bridge today.
