I didn’t expect Peter Crouch to remain so bitter after his sending off for a two footed lunge at Chelsea’s Obi,in the Carling cup quarter final game at Stamford Bridge.

Crouchy is complaining that foreign players are destroying the honesty and integrity of the Premier league, his way of saying that Obi got him sent off, by staying down and appearing to be hurt. He has a good point, but on this occasion the ref had already decided what he was going to do before either Crouch or Obi had hit the ground.

He goes on to suggest that had it been Frank Lampard or John Terry, those proper English gentlemen, they would have got straight to their feet after that tackle. I don’t think so!

It was a moment of madness in what is always a niggly game between these two teams and Crouch should not be complaining.
