Eduardo breaks leg in horror tackle

John Williams - Saturday 23.02.08, 14:25pm

Arsenal striker Eduardo was the victim of an untimely challenge by Birmingham’s Martin Taylor in today’s early kick off in the premiership.

The challenge that looked more mistimed than malicious left the Arsenal player requiring several minutes of treatment on the pitch before being stretchered off. Birmingham were reduced to ten men as Taylor was shown a straight red card.

Reports from the hospital that Eduardo was taken to confirmed that he has broken his left leg. He is being treated in Selly Oak hospital where doctors are considering surgery.
