Don’t get me wrong, it was nice to see Frank Lampard scoring again for England in the week. Let’s hope he can carry that on when the fixtures count. And again, with a bit of help from his mate David James, against Portsmouth on Saturday.

But what is it with that rubbish celebration he does. Run over to the corner flag, raise left hand and kiss ring finger in front of the crowd. Is he really wearing a ring?

Never used to be allowed that, or at least it had to be covered up with tape and plasters. So he’s either kissing slimy ,grassy skin or something sticky and medicinal.

Can’t be too nice whatever. No wonder the goals have dried up lately…
