According to the Sun newspaper Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal with Barcelona for wonder kid Giovani Dos Santos worth £12million.
The 19 year old Mexican is said to favour a move to White Hart Lane despite ongoing interest from Europe’s top clubs. It would be a remarkable feather in the cap for Juande Ramos if he were to capture the signing of Giovani.
Inter Milan and Manchester City, who were in prime position for the players signature a few days ago are desperately pleading with the player to change his mind.
Chelsea too will feel rebuffed after following the youngsters progress for four years and having two attempts at signing him turned down in recent weeks.
Giovanni will be tempted by the chance of regular football, without doubt, something that Spurs could offer but the bigger clubs would be unable to promise. He is currently an important squad player at Barcelona where he is usually employed as a substitute, but is a compelling player to watch when he is introduced to games.
He is a strong player with great control and an eye for goal, his failing if that’s not too strong a word is that he will try to hard, especially when tracking back and often ends up getting booked. He is after all trying to make a name for himself and become a regular choice in the team, so I feel sure once he gets regular football he will mature into a great team player.
Spurs are also in line to sign Ricahrd Dunne fro Manchester City for a fee of £5million.

This would be a great move for both parties. Santos can get minutes at White hart Lane and Spurs need a deeper midfield. I think they need to make a move for some quality defensive players if they want to return anywhere near the top 4.
