Gareth Barry will miss his first England game since Fabio Capello took over as England manager, having played in every game to date. Four more than Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.
Gareth Barry is proving to be the understated lynchpin at the heart of the England midfield, and though Andorra will not pose a threat on Wednesday at Wembley, I think England might miss Gareth Barry more than Lampard or Gerrard against a bigger threat.
Castrol performance data shows that the Manchester City midfielder’s contribution to his side will be missed as his pitch coverage and the sheer number of tackles that he makes and wins places him above both Gerrard and Lampard in the player rankings.

England have won six out of six World Cup qualifyers, but there is still much to debate over which England midfield quartet will be Fabio Capello’s first choice, if all players were available.
If Joe Cole returns to his best for club and country next season, surely he will be more suited than Steven Gerrard to the left side of midfield. With Gareth Barry such a regular choice for Fabio Capello, and the pace and trickery of Theo Walcott or Shaun Wright-Phillips on the right hand side, who would you choose between Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard?
