January sales at Spurs

John Williams - Wednesday 09.01.08, 11:52am

After telling Jermaine Defoe that he is free to find another club, Tottenham manager Juande Ramos has allegedly given another seven players the same news. The Sun newspaper has reported that the list is headed by goalkeeper Paul Robinson who has never recovered from the confidence crisis that he faced in England’s Euro qualifying games.

The other six players are: Pascal Chimbonda, Lee Young-Pyo, Anthony Gardener, Wayne Routledge, Hossam Ghaly and Paul Stalteri.

The news comes a week after Spurs boss Daniel Levy declared that “Spurs are not a selling club”.

the problem is, Spurs signed half of those players to show off and have a dig at Arsenal when everyone said they were skint and in big trouble after moving to the Emirates.

A year in football is a very log time!!

As Juande Ramos was appointed in November I’m assuming he must have stated that he would assess the squad & make necessary changes in time for the January transfer window.

I like the sound of this man! I’m bored with the player power culture of today’s premiership. Ramos has taken just ywo months to realise Paul Robinson is not good enough. I’m guessing we should now see Spurs go on a shopping spree. It would be great for the Premier League if he were to bring in some top European players.
