Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton has been jailed for six months after pleading guilty to assault and affray.
The player admitted to his part in a street attack that took place in Liverpool on December 27th 2007.
The Liverpool Crown Court judge told Barton it was a ‘violent and cowardly attack.”
