Following the post that John Hartson is to undergo cancer treatment, reported on Monday, the former player was admitted to Morriston Hospital in Swansea for surgery on his brain tumour, having been transferred from the city’s Singleton Hospital.
The 34 year old father of three was told at the weekend that testicular cancer had spread to his brain, but today doctors have told Hartson that cancer is also present in his lungs.
A hospital statement reads:
“He is currently being cared for by the critical care team at Morriston and is receiving round-the-clock care aiming to stabilise his condition. He will resume radiotherapy and chemotherapy as soon as possible.”
