The Sun newspaper states today that Jose Mourinho had talks with Massimo Moratti and has agreed terms to become manager of Inter Milan at the end of the season. Mourinho has been closely linked with the San Siro club since Roberto Mancini stated he would be leaving at the end of the season following the UEFA Champions League defeat to Liverpool, back in February, even though he has four years to run on his current contract and is about to win Serie A.

For sometime I have confidently predicted that Jose Mourinho would attempt to buy some of his favouirte Chelsea players once he returns to club management. The Sun states that Mourinho is ready to offer Chelsea £35 million for Frank Lampard & Didier Drogba, though I would suggest both are worth at least £25 million each in today’s maket. Both are unsettled at Chelsea, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to many people if they were to both leave at the end of the season.

I also predict he will attempt to buy Ricardo Calvarlho, one of the players that followed Mourinho to Cheslea from Porto.

Mourinho has been linked to Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and the England job since leaving Chelsea last September. Serie A and the stereotypical Italian way of winning 1-0 would certainly suit Jose Mourinho’s style of football management, and with Frank Lampard bossing the midfield and Dider Drogba as the loan striker Inter Milan could well be on course to become Italian & European champions for the 2008/2009 season.
