More of the pieces of Mark Hughes Manchester City are falling into place,  the top teams are now taking the club’s aspirations seriously and more ‘experts’ are tipping them to win the Premier league on a daily basis.

The latest player to sign for City is the central defender Kolo Toure, who joins from Arsenal on a four year contract for a fee believed to be around £16million. Toure gives City the tough tackling defensive player that they have been talking about and becomes the sixth signing of what is becoming a substantial squad for Mark Hughes.

The 28 year old played 326 games for Arsenal since arriving at the club in 2002. It is believed that the signing of Toure will end City’s quest to sign England captain John Terry and also end speculation over Everton’s Joleon Lescott.

City boss Mark Hughes said, “It is no secret that we have been looking to strengthen our defence and in Kolo I feel we have recruited a world class player. He brings a wealth of Premier League experience from his time with Arsenal, he is strong, quick, reads the game well and will be an influential figure in the dressing room.”

This is the most stupid sale under Wenger. Toure should have been captain and not Fabregas and I have a feeling that Toure felt betrayed by Wenger and decided that if a sensible club came looking for him he would want out. This move has made me question Wenger’s ambition. Adebayor’s move did not bother meas much as Toure’s. Those games where the team plays B.S. Toure would come storming from the defence with the ball and waving his hands and arms telling the midfielders and strikers too move along. I wish Fabregas was sold for a record fee and that Toure was our captain. All the best Kolo. We brought you to London as a young striker looking for a chance behind Henry, Bergkamp, anu and Wiltord and you left as a top notch defender. You will be missed by the Gooners.
