Man City to sack Sven Goran Eriksson

Terry Lane - Tuesday 29.04.08, 14:07pm

The BBC website reports that Sven Goran Eriksson was told on Sunday that he will be sacked at the end of the season.  Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra told Eriksson he was “not the right man for the job.”

Apparently Sven Goran Eriksson told the Man city players at the Monday morning training session, which allegedly provoked an angry repsonse.

I am absolutely shocked if this story is true; and who does Thaksin Shinawatra believe he will appoint to do a better job than Eriksson.

I was as surprised as everyone else with the way in which Eriksson bought so many players in the summer and gelled them together in such a short period of time. Until Christmas Man City were riding high.  But it is the results since the New Year that Thaksin Shinawatra has said to be concerned with.

There is no doubt Man City’s recent results and performances have not matched their earlier peak but I wonder if Thaksin Shinawatra has already made any enquiries as to who will be a better candidate to get Man City to kick on next season.

Furthermore, what next for Sven Goran Eriksson? Another big pay-off and the search for a new job.  Well, there’s always Chelsea!

IN current chaos its going to be hard to sign new players but just as critical we have to make sure we dont lose the great talent that we have, in the shape of many young players. Home grown youngsters like Daniel Sturridge are the future of this club and are surely coming to the end of contracts! We need to keep them!
