Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has revealed that he may be looking to Scotland to bolster his flagging squad.
Keegan, who was in Glasgow at the launch of a new initiative for his Soccer Circus, suggested that Scotland is likely to see many Premier League managers looking at Scotland ‘because there is some talent there.’
While the rest of the Premier league look to Europe and Spain in particular for players, Keegan suggests that there are four or five players in Scotland that are worth a look. Newcastle have been linked with Celtic trio Aiden McGeady, Scott McDonald and Scott Brown as well as Hibs player Steven Fletcher.
Newcastle have yet to win a game since Keegan joined them and fast becoming involved in the relegation battle. Keegan said that four wins are all that the Magpies need to ensure safety. He has recently said that ‘Four out of sixteen wasn’t a big ask, but now its four out of nine.’
