Sevilla stars will not go to Spurs

John Williams - Tuesday 30.10.07, 14:28pm

Sevilla chairman Jose Maria del Nido has issued a bitterĀ statement, condemning the Spurs board over the illegal approach made to coach Juande Ramos. The Spanish club are clearly upset by the way that Spurs conducted themselves in the recent dealings and have stated:

“Here in Spain, we’re not used to treachery existing between clubs. Nowhere in European football has something like this happened before with the season under way. ”

In a further statement aimed at Ramos, del Nido has said, in no uncertain terms, that Sevilla will not allow star players Alves and Kanute to follow the manager to White Hart Lane. He reckons that the pair have clauses in their contracts that would demand a staggering 60 million pounds, to but them out. Adding, that he doubted that Tottenham could afford to buy them.

Have Tottenham become the new Chelsea? It was the Blues total lack of respect and protocol that upset the football world when Abramovich and co first started rattling the FA cages.

In fairness why would the Sevillia players want to join Spurs? The only player in recent history who has performed anywhere near their potential after a move to White Hart lane is Berbatov.

Further from the boards recent debarcle involving the ever popular Jol and their seeming illegal and unethical approach for Ramos. Why would players want to jon a club whose board are clearly incompetent when they are being courted by some of the biggest clubs in the world with sound proven management?

have to agree with the second bit.and that sort of bad management at the higher ranks within spurs has been going on for a while but i think now we do have a manager with a proven track record who can take us up and on to win some silverware.i think jol was our best manager by far since terry venables but appointments of people like ardiles.graham.hoddle. GROSS has been nothing short of farcical!
as for the first bit i would like to mention klinsmann.sheringham. gazza and keane who have all performed consistently well for the spurs in recent history not to take anything away from berbatov as he is clearly worldclass.
