Bristol Rovers dream of causing a fourth cup upset in the last of the FA Cup quarter finals, ended in tatters, as Championship promotion hopefuls West Bromwich Albion brushed them aside in a 5-1 win.
West Brom started as favourites, but with the way the other quarter final games have gone this weekend , some show of nerves would have been forgiven. The Baggies quickly asserted themselves however and took a two nil lead, the first from James Morrison and then Ishmael Miller adding a second on the half hour.
Bristol Rovers refused to lie down though and hit straight back through Danny Coles to make it 2-1.
West Brom were not so forgiving in the second half, but took a further twenty five minutes to add to the score, with Miller getting the third, substitute Kevin Phillips mad it four, before Miller completed his hat trick.
Portsmouth are the only Premiership team left in the FA cup semi finals and for the first time for ages a Championship team will definitely be in the Wembley final.
